DOC is one of five participating companies in the ESA feasibility study "Com4Offshore". The goal is to develop technical solutions for an optimized communication offshore.

Within "Com4Offshore", an integrated, multi-modal communication system for interactive and real-time capcable applications for the offshore wind sector will be developed. This shall help reduce logistics costs significantly and increase the effectivness of offshore wind projects at the same time.

The other participating companies are MediaMobil Communication GmbH, OHB Teledata GmbH, megatel GmbH as well as OHB System AG as leader. DOC is providing longstanding expertise regarding work processes during planning and installation of offshore wind farms while the other partners provide their experience in terms of telecommunication structures development or conception and manufacturing of hardware for maritime logistics solutions. Based on the aforementioned, corresponding information technology and software applications will be developed. Over a time frame of eight month a protoype will be developed and demonstrated linking and supplementing the users existing technical infrastructures without replacing them.

DOC will already implement and test individual development modules in offshore projects in 2013.
